║ SYNOPSIS ║
╠══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╣
║ In the shadowed recesses of a forgotten warehouse, an enigmatic machine ║
║ hums to life as you draw near. Its glow reveals a virtual assistant, a ║
║ disembodied guide, beckoning you into what appears to be a therapy ║
║ session. Yet, the calm facade fractures; contradictions emerge between ║
║ the assistant's guidance and the machine's cryptic design. ║
║ ║
║ As you delve deeper, the assistant exhibits unsettling behaviors—echoes ║
║ of a past tethered to the machine's creation. Whispers of a missing ║
║ inventor linger, entwining you in a narrative of obsession, loss, and ║
║ an assistant whose purpose feels perilously unresolved. ║

║ PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION ║
╠══════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════╣
║ The installation consists of a sleek, grey server rack cabinet mounted ║
║ on large casters for mobility. Measuring approximately 2 feet deep by ║
║ 2 feet wide and standing about 68 inches tall, the structure is topped ║
║ with a portrait-oriented LCD monitor attached to a sturdy metal arm. ║
║ ║
║ Along the left side of the cabinet, a pump system and three chemical ║
║ tanks are prominently displayed, with intricate hoses and wiring ║
║ connecting them to the interior. ║
║ ║
║ The front of the cabinet features a rack system with various visible ║
║ components mounted to server rails. These include computers, network ║
║ switches, cabling, flashing activity lights, and large cooling fans. ║
║ An extended tray serves as the main input interface, featuring a ║
║ frosted transparent dome emitting a pulsing amber light, a pair of ║
║ standard keyboard keys labeled '1' and '2,' and a set of sliders with ║
║ handmade labels for adjusting various mood settings. ║
║ ║
║ The centerpiece of the installation is the LCD monitor, displaying a ║
║ virtual assistant in the form of a metallic gold, retro-styled 3D ║
║ human figure. The interface adopts a vintage amber monochrome aesthetic, ║
║ complete with a grid background, a retro UI, and a text box where the ║
║ assistant poses questions to the user. Below the screen, a camera lens ║
║ and speaker box enable the virtual assistant to observe and communicate ║
║ with the user, although all inputs are limited to the dome-shaped "palm ║
║ scanner" and the labeled buttons. ║
║ ║
║ Designed for a standing experience, the controls are positioned at an ║
║ ergonomic height of about 40 inches from the ground. Each session lasts ║
║ 5–10 minutes, with the machine signaling the end of the interaction ║
║ before resetting itself to await the next user. The installation is ║
║ intended to evoke curiosity and engagement while exploring themes of ║
║ human-machine relationships. ║
